Habits: we all have them, for better or for worse. As mothers, we want to endow our children with habits that will help them, and not hinder them throughout their lives. But helping our children develop the right habits is not a task for the faint of heart. It is no surprise that we find ourselves discouraged and disappointed.

That's why we've developed a Habit Training workshop: to provide the framework, the accountability, and the encouragement needed to gain traction with habit training.

Such habits as these, good, bad, or indifferent, are they natural to the children? No, but they are what their mothers have brought them up to: and as a matter of fact, there is nothing which a mother cannot bring her child up to.

Charlotte Mason

The workshop includes:

  • Four video sessions on habit training, focused on principles that you can apply in your home, in a way that makes sense for you. Learn more about the sessions.
  • An action-oriented pdf workbook that will be completed during the seminar, so that you are prepared to start habit training as soon as possible
  • Four weeks of daily encouragement, straight to your inbox. You'll receive passages on habit training to read, simple action steps to keep you on track, accountability questions, and more.
  • Common questions from each session, and their answers

Praise for the Habit Training Workshop

You have clarified & simplified Charlotte Mason's focus on habit training through this course! You have synthesized all the information into a very understandable, practical and doable method for parents!

I thoroughly appreciate both of you for offering your time and insight to help others who wish to implement Miss Mason's lofty goals. You let us know those goals are reachable and can be approached in a more simple manner than one might think.

Questions?

But what if I've failed at habit training before?

We, as mothers, are constantly changing and growing. We keep learning, just as our children do. There are hundreds of variables that effect our daily lives, and variables change. You change. Keep learning, and keep trying.

What if I have bad habits, too?

You don't need to be perfect to habit train your child or children. Developing positive habits together, as a family, allows your children to learn that adults keep growing, too, and that what you're working on is worthy.

I am completely overwhelmed by habit training.

It can be overwhelming. especially if you are without a plan.  Amy and Leah actively study and practice the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason and have learned the most important aspects of habit training, as well as how to help you implement them.

The Habit Training Workshop is self-paced, so you can learn when it suits your schedule.

Each session lasts around 30 minutes. After each session, you'll be encouraged to complete part of a Habit Action Plan, so you'll finish the workshop knowing your next steps.

Session One

Session Two

Session Three

Is this workshop right for me?

Do I need to be homeschooling to participate?

No! While Amy and Leah are homeschooling moms, these principles can be put into practice in any family. Even Charlotte Mason, the educational philosopher who advocated for habit training as a tool of education, appreciated that not all children would be educated at home or in one of her schools.

My children are young/school-age/teens. Can I still use habit training?

Absolutely. Habit training is based on principles that are flexible and adaptable to your own circumstances, including the ages of your children. The seminar will help you to put the principles into practice in a way that makes sense for you.

I can't attend the live seminar. Can I still join in?

Yes, the replays will be available shortly after the seminar and replay links will be emailed to you.

Meet Leah and Amy.

Hi! We're Amy and Leah, the voices behind the Thinking Love podcast! We are both homeschooling moms with huge hearts for bringing the Charlotte Mason method to life in our homes, and for helping others do the same. Between us, we have over twelve years of experience in reading and following the Charlotte Mason way with our young families. We share about this regularly on our podcast and our personal blogs. You can find links to where we discuss habit training below.
